So been very busy with school and work. But will try to keep updating you all on making my first game. Here are some assets I’ll be using for the tutorial. I upload more as I have a chance to make them. Hope they help you in getting started. I’ll provide the illustrator, Photoshop files and png images as I finish them.
Well for years now I have wanted to create my own Mobile games. Manly for the fun of it and well to see if I can do it. My main background is in Graphic design. My programing skills or should I say lack of them. Has always been my biggest deterrence into making a game. Thanks to the explosion of the mobile platform, Windows, Apple and Android. More an more companies are making it easier to create games with little programing knowledge. I’m not saying that you don’t need to know how to program. But having a basic understanding of programing is going to be a important need. You’ll want to know most of the basic functions that are used in everyday programing.
So I am going to write my experience creating my first game using Game-salad. So my first few weeks will be learning all about how Game-salad works. I’ll be using the video tutorial on YouTube (Creating a iPhone app form star to finish). As the video tutorial does not have provide a link to the assets used. I will create my own and share it with everyone, so that you to can follow along.
Synfig is an open source 2D vector animation software that anyone can download and start creating 2D works. Free to use and download it has some powerful animation tools built into the software. I did find it had to animate with no real instruction or tutorials provided by the site other than a document wiki page. Lucky by just searching a little on youtube I was able to find some video tutorial that help me get started faster then the documents provided by Synfig. But the wiki doc are still a great resource for any one starting out. So head on over to http://synfig.org/ and give the software a try. And if you up for it post your animation links in the comments for all of us to see.
Here’s an example of what can be done with this free software
